WHAT IS KINESIO TAPE?

Kinesio Tape®, also called Kinesio Tex Tape, is the original elastic adhesive tape developed by Dr. Kenzo Kase in 1979. Kinesio Tape is latex-free, hypoallergenic and wearable for days at a time. It is safe for everyone from elite athletes, general gym users through to medial patients.

• 100% made from a gentle cotton fiber stripKinesio Tape Birmingham
• 100% medical grade acrylic adhesive
• 100% latex-free
• Hypoallergenic
• Water-resistant
• Does not limit range of motion
• Multiple day wear time.
• Tension on tape has the ability to relax or stimulate muscles.

HOW DOES KINESIO TAPING WORK?

Kinesio Tape alleviates discomfort and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. This lifting effect forms convolutions in the skin thus increasing interstitial space and allowing for a decrease in inflammation, reducing pressure while enabling a more effective flow of blood and lymphatic fluid in and out of the target area.

Based upon years of clinical use, Kinesio Tape is specifically applied to the patient based upon their needs after evaluation. The findings of the clinical evaluation or assessment dictate the specifics of the Kinesio Tape application and other possible treatments or modalities. With the utilization of single “I” strips or modifications in the shape of an “X”, “Y” or other specialized shapes as well as the direction and amount of stretch placed on the tape at time of application, Kinesio Tape can be applied in hundreds of ways and has the ability to re-educate the neuromuscular system, reduce inflammation, prevent injury and promote good circulation and healing, and assist in returning the body to homeostasis.

EVERY DAY USE

FOR WORK, FOR LIFE, FOR PLAY

Although originally developed for medical use in things such as Lymphedema, for many years Kinesio Taping has assisted individuals of all ages to find comfort in their daily activities.

Kinesio is widely used for general day to day functions to help office workers, bus drivers and other working professionals with the day to day repetitive strains within the neck, back and hands caused by long hours at computer desks or in a seated position. Whatever your ache or pain whether it starts in the foot or in the neck Kinesio Taping can be the difference between getting up ready for your day ahead or getting up dreading your day ahead.

FOR MEDICAL USE

FOR THE MORE COMPLEX ISSUES

As you may see in the Media the athletic uses of Kinesio Taping are well-noticed and extensively photographed but it is in fact the medical field that Kinesio Tape was created originally created for. As part of an overall medical approach to patient care Kinesio Tape is used widely in helping reduce pain and inflammation as well as assisting muscle development and function to further progress a person’s rehabilitation following surgery or other medical interventions.

Kinesio Taping in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham & the West Midlands

Out of all of the massages I have received over the last years, This was the best!

After telling Steve about my issues, he quickly figured it out exactly which areas are triggering the pain in my shoulders etc ....focusing on these areas he worked his magic!

- Robert Gilvarry, Birmingham - August 2016

I'd had a few nasty car accidents recently which reduced mobility in the spinal/neck area Steve consulted with me to identify my problematic areas and was able to recommend which treatments he was available to offer that would provide increased mobility and reduce pain. He was extremely flexible with availability offering me the choice of several venues for convince. Since using Steve's services my pain overall I'd say has reduced by around 40% at a minimum, I cannot recommend Steve highly enough as in addition to being fantastic at what he does, he is extremely friendly to work with, give him a try...YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

- Sean Dore, Birmingham - November 2015

Steve was very friendly, made me feel at ease and gave a brilliant back, shoulder and neck massage that has loosened my muscles very nicely.

- Georgie Freer, Birmingham - July 2015
