Safeguarding Policy

At Livewell Health, we are committed to safeguarding the welfare of all individuals who engage with our services. This policy outlines our commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment, particularly for vulnerable individuals, including children, young people, and adults at risk.

Purpose

This policy ensures that:

  • Safeguarding is prioritised across all our services.
  • All individuals are protected from harm, abuse, and neglect.
  • Clear procedures are in place to respond to safeguarding concerns.

Our Commitment

    • All staff undergo background checks, including DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks, where required.
  3. Reporting Concerns:
    • We encourage anyone with concerns about the safety or well-being of an individual to report them immediately.
    • All concerns are handled with sensitivity, confidentiality, and in line with legal obligations.
  4. Whistleblowing:
    • We maintain a culture where individuals feel safe to raise concerns about unethical or unsafe practices without fear of reprisal.
  5. Partnerships:
    • We work closely with local authorities, safeguarding boards, and other relevant organisations to ensure effective safeguarding measures are in place.

Recognising Abuse

We are vigilant in identifying signs of abuse, including but not limited to:

  • Physical abuse
  • Emotional or psychological abuse
  • Sexual abuse
  • Neglect or acts of omission
  • Financial or material abuse

Responding to Concerns

If a safeguarding concern is raised:

  1. Immediate Action:
    • Ensure the individual is safe and secure.
  2. Record and Report:
    • Document the concern accurately and report it to the designated safeguarding lead (DSL) or relevant authority.
  3. Follow Up:
    • Work with appropriate agencies to address and resolve the concern.
