Alison Hunt

Alison is a fully qualified Sports Therapist and one of LIVEWELL’s senior therapists. She offers a range of treatments for sports and non-sports people alike.

History: 

In 2016 Alison qualified with a degree in Sports Rehabilitation from the University of Salford.  While she was at university she worked with Coventry RFC and Salford RFC. As a result, she was invited to offer her expertise as masseur to the teams. Since then she has supported a variety of football teams, where she has been the lead Sport Rehabilitor. For example. Birmingham County Football Association (under 18s team) and The Crown FC. In 2017, she worked for the WTA, when the Aegon Classic Tennis Tournament came to Birmingham, offering her the opportunity to treat elite athletes. Consequently, she has vast experience in all soft tissue related issues.

In her downtime, Alison enjoys going to the gym and spending time with her family.

Hollie Davoren

Hollie is highly qualified deputy clinic lead therapist within LiveWell and is based in Birmingham.

History:

In 2016 Hollie graduated from the University of Birmingham with a BSC Honours in Sports Therapy. Her interest in Sports Therapy was as a result of her love for sports and learning about the human body. For example, the way it works, the musculoskeletal structures and most importantly how we can heal soft tissue pathologies.

After suffering injuries herself when she was younger this has helped her to realise just how important rehabilitation is. In her spare time she loves to play netball and plays as much as possible. She has also volunteered with many different clubs, offering Sports Massage, taping & pitch-side first aid.

Lauren Gittings

Lauren is a fully qualified Sports Therapist and one of LIVEWELL’s senior therapists within Birmingham and the Midlands.

History:

Lauren has been interested in the world of health and fitness most of her adult life. She has also been a professional dancer travelling the world taking part in high level competitions. She is now enjoying teaching dance to young students and also providing a much needed massage service to LW Clients.

Jonny Evans

Valentina Willats

Valentina is one of our Senior Therapists within LiveWell and and is qualified in Sports Therapist and Rehabilitation in Coventry and Leicester.

Qualifications:

Sport and Remedial Massage Therapy (Dip SMRT BTEC Level 5)

History:

Valentina has always been fascinated with biology, physics and the workings of human body through school. During further education she started her journey into holistic therapy in 2007 as a Nutritional Advisor. After a few years she decided to broaden her skill set to include manual therapy. In 2014 Valentina started studying at NLSSM, one of the top UK Sports Therapy colleges.

After qualifying she worked as a Sports Therapist in a multidisciplinary clinic. This allowed her to gain experience in treating a variety of sports and occupational related injuries. She progressed to specialise in treating runners, working as a supervising therapist at some of the major London running events. Over the years Valentina has had the pleasure of working with athletes who compete in a wide range of disciplines.

Valentina enjoys being part of the rehab journey to help clients achieve their goals. She believes this to be the most rewarding experience.

Charlotte Lavin

Charlotte is one of our Senior Therapists within LiveWell and a fully qualified Sports Massage Therapist and a 2nd year Physiotherapy Student.

History:

Charlotte is currently undertaking her physiotherapy degree at the University of Liverpool.  As a triathlete growing up, Charlotte understands the importance of massage and looking after your body.  She is keen to get involved with sports massages and deep tissue massages on both sport and non sport issues. Her free time involves going to the gym, playing lacrosse and social running as well as enjoying student life.

Adam Evans

Adam is one of our Senior Therapists within LiveWell and is a qualified Sports Therapist offering Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation in Telford and Wolverhampton.

History:

Adam grew up within the football industry since the age of 5. He always dreamt of becoming a footballer however as he progressed he suffered a number injuries. Whilst undergoing a rehab programme, Adam developed a passion within the field. As a result he decided to do a sports therapy course at university, specialising in his preferred interest of massage.

Josh is one of our Sports Massage Therapists based in Derby and covers Derby, Nottingham and the surrounding areas.

History:

Going through school and most of college, Josh was unsure of what career path he was going to take. One thing he was certain of, was that he wanted a job that was physical and involved sport.

In his second year of college he chose to study sports massage and really began to enjoy learning about this subject. Furthermore, what he really motivated him was being able to help someone who is in pain. As a result he would also be able to help towards rehabilitation. This encouraged him to go onto University to do a full degree in sports science.

Whilst at university he found out about the range of techniques that are used in sports massage. Consequently, he also managed to apply these techniques in a way which would be effective. Whilst studying sports massage at university this also gave him the chance to learn what can be done to gain the best outcome possible.

Josh has always been a sporty person, from playing rugby at such a young age and then getting involved in other sports. For example football, swimming and kickboxing, which has given him a real advantage in sports therapy. It gives Josh a unique perspective of how to prevent injuries, whilst playing sports, but also the correct playing styles to be most effective in that sport.

Katie Connolly

History:

Katie has always been interested in sports since a young age. She quickly knew she wanted to peruse a career within the field. After leaving school Katie studied a Sports Therapy degree at university. Katie loves helping people and as a result specialises in sports massage.

It is important to her to be able to provide the best massage techniques to aid clients to return to daily life or sports with reduced pain.

Katie still enjoys going to the gym in her spare time to keep fit and healthy.

Jenny Bugg-Millar

History:

Jenny graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2020 with a BSc Honours in Sport and Exercise Sciences. She has always been very fascinated with the human body, in particular its mechanisms and functions. Whilst growing up Jenny tried many different sports. She eventually found a passion for synchronised ice skating where she competed for Great Britain internationally.

Jenny enjoys being part of a team and helping others. This was one of the reasons she was keen to pursue a career in sports therapy. Moreover she understands the frustration of being injured and being unable to participate in something you love. She is passionate about providing a service and techniques needed to allow clients to continue participating in sports they enjoy. She strives to help reduce further injuries, whilst helping clients to be at their optimal mobility level.

Leon Gibbs

Leon is qualified in Sports Therapist and Rehabilitation and provides sports massage in and around the midlands.

History:

Leon has worked in a variety of different sporting environments (Football and Rugby). During his 3 years at University he developed skills to specialise in injury treatment. This includes sports massage in addition to an alternate rehabilitation programme of structuring and planning.

In recreational time, Leon plays football and watches a large amount of sport. As well as having an interest in this, he uses it to gain a deeper insight into the mechanisms of injury. Enabling him to understand how to prevent these from re-occurring in the future.

Emma Stevens

Emma is a qualified Sports Therapist offering Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation in Derby and Nottingham.

History:

Emma is a key horse rider. Her interest in the welfare of the animals inspired her to qualify as an Equine Sports Massage and Rehabilitation Therapist. She has successfully been helping other riders with the physical well-being of their horses since 2019.

As a result of this she developed an interest in human anatomy. In particular how the restrictions of mobility in humans influenced that of a horse. Emma studied a Level 3 Sports Massage Diploma to better understand the muscle functions and instabilities in humans. Whilst learning how to support recovery.

Isobel Jackson

Isobel is a fully qualified Sports and Massage Therapist.

Isobel is a second year physiotherapy student at the university of Liverpool. Due to her interest in sport and learning about rehabilitation of the body she has excelled in sports and remedial massage. She enjoys going to the gym and seeing family and friends.

Whilst studying, I had the opportunity to help clients from start to finish of their rehabilitation, helping them to return to day-to-day life, work and even sport. I have an extensive background in Athletics and football, playing for West Bromwich Albion and Walsall FC. After suffering many injuries of my own, it led me to study sports therapy so that I could help others in similar situations. I had the opportunity to return to Walsall FC, this time as a sports therapist underneath the head physio.
