ice pod therapy through the livewell recovery hub

Ice Pod Therapy

Ice therapy pods, also known as cold-water immersion, are a popular recovery method that involves immersing the body, or parts of the body, in ice-cold water. These ice pods are used in the LIVE | Recover, Recovery Hub as the first part of a range of recovery products used for their health and recovery benefits, especially in sports events where the body is taken to its limit.

The temperature of the ice therapy pods can usually be around 10°C or lower, which can help reduce inflammation, alleviate sore muscles, and speed up the recovery process after intense physical exertion. Ice baths are used primarily to constrict blood vessels which in turn decreases blood flow, which therefore reduces inflammation resulting in a reduction in pain. It can also help with cell level repair.

Individuals looking for a speedy recovery often use ice baths as a part of their post-exercise routine.

sauna and steam room providing heat therapy through the livewell recovery hub

Sauna / Steam Room

The mobile saunas and steam rooms are a very popular part of our recovery hub, especially after you have experienced 10 minutes in the ice therapy pods!

The change from cold to hot is an age old recovery method that is known as contrast bathing or cold heat therapy. The cold part of the process restricts blood flow and reduces overall inflammation, which is the pain or the DOMS you tend to feel post exercise / event. The heat part of this process, in essence, opens the valves and enlarges your blood vessels and lymphatic system to provide an instant boost pushing high quality blood, proteins, collagen and all the other beneficial parts of the recovery process around your body. This speeds up recovery and also generally makes you feel a lot better.

compression boot therapy through the livewell recovery hub

Compression Boots Therapy

Compression boot therapy, which can sometimes be referred to as pneumatic compression therapy, is a non-invasive treatment that involves the use of specially designed compression boots that apply controlled pressure to the limbs, in this instance the legs. Compression Boots are designed to encourage circulation and reduce swelling, making them extremely popular to our clients in medical and sports recovery contexts.

During compression therapy, the boots are worn over the legs like trousers. They are connected to a machine that has various programs and settings, that inflates and deflates the boots in a rhythmic pattern, creating a pumping action. This action helps improve blood flow, venous return (the flow of blood back to the heart), and lymphatic drainage.

theragun therapy through the livewell recovery hub

Theragun Therapy

Theragun therapy, which can also be referred to as percussion massage therapy, is a type of treatment that uses a device called a Theragun. This device delivers targeted, rapid, and repetitive pressure to muscles . It is commonly used to alleviate muscle tension, reduce pain, improve circulation, and promote relaxation.

The theraguns used within the recovery hub however come with 2 clear differences to any you may have used before:

  1. Hot and Cold Functions – On the end of our theraguns, you have a choice of a heated element or a cold element further increasing the recovery types and times.
  2. Our theraguns are some of the most powerful on the market meaning no stalling or stopped, just consistent pressure and benefit.
