Physiotherapy

With a Clinic based in Sutton Coldfield we offer clinic visits but can also offer home visits across Birmingham and the West Midlands.

What is Physiotherapy?

In it’s simplest form, Physiotherapy is the treatment of disease, injury, or deformity by physical methods such as massage, heat treatment, and exercise rather than by drugs or surgery.

Physiotherapists help people affected by injury, illness or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice.

We are able to help you maintain health for people of all ages, helping you to manage pain and discomfort.

Injury Assessment

This is probably one of the most important stages in designing an effective treatment plan but more importantly actually understand the true cause of your injury. Many therapists and companies who offer Injury Rehab will focus on the “pain” and this is not always the best way to start an assessment. The pain is usually the effect of another cause. Yes we will of course treat the pain and rehab that particular muscle / ligament / tendon however we need to understand how that injury has been brought on as it could be down to posture, tight muscles in other areas or some form of deformity in a particular joint / bone. This is where LiveWell Health and our trained Level 5 Sports Therapist really excel above most other companies in this field.

Injury Rehab

Injury Rehabilitation takes on many forms and is very much designed for the individual. No two Rehab Strategies / plans are the same and this is because we are all very unique. Not just in our body make up but also in the nature we sustained the injury in the first place.

With this in mind Injury Rehabilitation is a unique set of exercises, stretching and muscle manipulation (through massage and other techniques) that will lead us to a common goal of recovery and return to sport / fitness.

The time in which it takes an individual to recover fully varies and will be discussed within the initial injury assessment. The recovery will be monitored so we can give a good estimate on a date when returning to full activity can be given.

Strength & Conditioning

The final part of your Physio and treatment please will be the conditioning of the muscles, tendons or ligaments through a structured exercise and training plan that isnt your run of the mill PT session but more specifically focused around specific muscles or groups of muscles to make sure your injury does not return and in fact you are stronger than you were before.

We do this through single plain and multi directional rehab techniques.

I was recommended to LiveWell Health for a massage due to a recent dance injury. Not only did I get a great massage, but I received professional advice on how to avoid further injuries in the future. I was made to feel at ease and comfortable. I would recommend LiveWell Health to all of my friends and family and will definitely go back again.
